I researched how a city rides, then drew the app that shows it how.
I joined hop as a UX intern and left as a Junior UX Designer. Along the way I ran benchmark research, sat in customer meetings, shaped flows, structured the design system, designed pages and illustrated the app end to end.
A scooter, part of the commute
With its electric-scooter sharing service, hop is one of the leading shared-mobility platforms in Turkey. It plays a real part in the daily lives of commuters across the country's major cities, a scooter you find on the pavement, unlock with your phone, and leave at the next corner.
Listen first, then draw
I opened with a thorough benchmark analysis of the category, then sat in customer meetings. Turning what people actually said into flows the team could build against is where I grew fastest. The flows themselves are internal, so I can't show them here but the shipped result is public.
How the category solves unlock, ride and park — and where it doesn't.
One-on-one conversations, notes taken, feedback turned into decisions.
Structured so the team could build against them, page by page.
I illustrated the whole ride
Working from the concept direction the team set, I drew the moments that teach a first-time rider what to do: unlock, ride, brake, park. One consistent line, greyscale for the city, red only where it counts; the scooter, the pin, the brand.

Carrying real screens
The illustrations don't sit in a style guide, they do work inside the product. Here they anchor the promotions view and the refer-a-friend flow, giving each screen a face a rider recognises.

One language across the app
In step with the team's concept, I helped to structure the design system and designed specific pages; so the flows, the illustration and the UI all spoke the same language. Sitting with customers one-on-one taught me more, faster, than anything else on the project.
An invaluable, one-of-a-kind place to grow up as a designer.
This project was where research, a design system and my own illustration first came together on something people actually use. I left it a more confident designer than I arrived. Some of the illustration is still in use over at hop.bike.
